Hi guys,
I have a dash insert for my '32 which needs cleaning up as it has a few tiny scratches and scuffs. It is machined turned and I thought a light polishing should do the job. Comments/tips? |

Given that the original engine turnings are a form of scratching or scuffing, polishing would seem to carry the risk of obliterating or at least diminishing them. How about the alternative of chemically eliminating any rust spots with metal prep and then spraying the well-dried panel face with clear lacquer or urethane, instead, which would tend to hide the non-original scratches and scuffs?
