Default 1955 ford electrical problem

My 55 is still 6 volts so I use a " POSITIVE GROUND VOLTAGE INVERTER" to operate my AM/FM and satellite radio...I had an electrical short and blew some fuses in the car and now my satellite radio and my am/fm radio does not work.
I am suspecting that the voltage inverter was shorted out.
IS THERE A WAY TO TEST THE VOLTAGE INVERTER TO SEE IF IT IS FRIED ?
The inverter has a 14 gauge red wire running thru the center and one black ground wire in the center of the case. The red wire does show continuity with my multimeter....Can the inverter still be bad and show continuity ?
