There are two arms on the front of Model A's that attach to the brake rods, and actuate the front brakes when the pedal is pushed. Manuals indicate the arms should be set at a 15 degree foward angle when properly set. Were all cars and trucks set up that way, including the early 28's that had a emergency brake system that actuated all four wheels??

I have a 28 CCPickup and its brak system is set up as Bob wrote. All four wheels lock when the Parking Brake lever is ppulled back. The Actuating Levers -on hte front- are set at 15 degrees forward.

The Actuating levers are set at 15 degrees forward on all Model A's. The reason for the 15 degrees forward is the travel from 15 degrees forward to about 5 degrees backward is the maximum mechanical leverage taht can be applied in this type of system. Mechanical brakes need all the help they can get. ken
