Default steering box seal number?

Anyone have a modern number for the steering box seal? This is the seal at the sector gear shaft. It's Ford's (OEM) xx- 3591.

Thanks.

Mike, I don’t have a part number for you but I can tell you that I have used online catalogs to find what I needed. Most manufacturers will have a section of listings by shaft diameter, housing bore size and seal thickness. I have used this method to find seals for disc brake conversions and have had excellent results.

Try Victor 49723 or equivalent. Should fit 35-56.

Thanks a bunch. Now, might that be the same as '40? My instinct says 'yes" but my instinct is not always correct.

Yes, it is what I used in my 40s. Take care when slipping the splines on the sector through it, maybe some thin tape on the splines.
