I am having difficulty with the horn on our '28 roadster. the problem appears to be the connection from the wiring harness to the central terminal on the light switch contact plate. Over the years, the terminal lug from the harness over the contact terminal has slid off, and been reconnected. Finally, the contact terminal has broken it off.
I have tried, unsuccessfully, to find any replacement contact plate. Is there any way that I can make my current plate work or a vendor that sells American-made replacements? Thanks in advance.....

I see switches with the contact plate, and cut off original wires quite often at swap meets.

I agree with Tom give Birts a call and get a good used original and replace your broken one. My experience with new replacement ones are not good.

I had the same problem.... after hours of trying to get good electrical contact, I bought a new wiring harness and in an hour and a half; rewired the entire '29 coupe...

If it was your house, what would you do. Once done, one less thing to worry about. Enjoy. |
