"Blatz is the name you will always cheer"
"Blatz is Milwaukee's finest beer" I listened to that tune many times and still sing it myself occasionally |

I bought the complete set of the early fifties "Amos & Andy" TV shows on CD a few years ago. They included the Blatz commercials, which I thought was a good touch. I remember seeing them as a kid. I now realize that I had no idea of how good they were back then. They were funny, insightful and sometimes touching. Amos's explanation of "The Lord's Prayer" to his Daughter Arabella was a high point for me.

Found a picture of the Philbrick Garage from 1930 in the Wisconsin Historical Society archives. Shows a few loads of Firestone tires being delivered. The building at 207 3rd Ave is still there, but no beer trucks or old Fords in sight.

If a picture is worth 1,000 words, then a video is worth 1,001 of them.
