Default dirty model a horn

I have a model a horn that came with a basket case car I purchased. It is missing the rear cover over the motor. It looks like it was used for a long time that way. The car was in storage over 30 years. The entire motor area is covered with the same type of caked on dirt and oil as an old worn out 4 banger. It just has a lighter coat. It has a short loose wire coming from each coil. I cleaned the commutator hooked jumper wires to battery and it works. My question is how and what would I use to clean it?
