Default Steering Column Fit problems 36 pickup

I mounted a 37 steering box and 40 frame bracket on my 1936 pickup. However, the angle of the steering tube going into the cab is such that it interferes with the fit of the toe board. It appears to me that the steering box needs to mounted about an inch higher so the toe board can fit normally. Anyone had this problem when installing a 37-40 box in a 35/35 pickup. CWells

Had to notch my toeboard a smidgen in my 36 car. maybe 3/4" if I remember correctly.
Worth EVERY bit of trouble it caused getting the old bracket out etc.
