My new woodie came with a nice spare tire cover and a band. The tires are 6.5x16" bias ply. I've tried to get that little keyed latch to grab the spare tire bracket, but cannot get it to hook on. Is there a trick? Or will it just not fit with this tire size? Even without the band, the cover doesn't seem to fit.
Thanks Pete |

1937 Ford automobiles were originally equipped with 6.00 x 16 tires.
So maybe your tire is too big? |

I had the same issue with my spare tire on my truck. I ordered new tires from Coker and I ordered 5 new 6.50X16. I went to put on the spare and it would not fit with the spare tire cover. Ended up having to get 1 6.0X16 to make it work.
