Default Engine Painting

Head is off, valve cover off and I am repainting both and then will try to paint the rest of the engine in place. I have a few dumb questions that some of you could help me with.

Do the machined flats for the head bolts and spark plugs on the head get painted? I can see that it looks like my Roadster that was painted back in the 60's might not have had them painted and it appears to have rusted around all those areas.

Is the intake manifold engine green or black?

Is the water pump green or black. Here again the Roadster is green but the water pump I am rebuilding is black???

Do you paint your exhaust manifold or leave it unpainted? I have bought new matching exhaust and intake manifolds and the intake is painted black from the dealer.

Thanks

Rich
