Most of this group is uncomfortable with the likely surgery required as you may need to cut the firewall for clearance and cut the frame cross member for transmission clearance. You also may or may not have clearance issues with the inner fenders. The oil filter may interfere with some steering boxes. Exhaust routing might be an issue.
You will likely have to do your own engineering or find a shop who will. Ultimately you have to stuff the motor in, remove any offending original sheetmetal, and then rebuild any structures you have compromised. Once you get the dirty work done, the guys here are usually very nice about helping with issues of body fit and original parts interchanges. |

Saw a completely stock looking '40 deluxe coupe, with great patina at Bonneville several years ago with a Coyote in it. Everything else was stock, very cool.

Really, a stock transmission, rear end, brakes behind that engine? Sounds pretty unsafe to me.

I have to wonder given the question and the magnitude of the modification if the car won't be for sale shortly after reality sets in. Nothing is as easy as it appears on TV. |

Try Streetrodding.com for this question. It leans more to the street rod culture. I've belonged to it for years.
