Default 31 Model A SW Town Sedan Project Front Header and Cover

I could use some help and advise.

In a previous post, I identified that I was having problems with the front cover fitting on the front wood header.
I had a warm day so I set forth to work on my vehicle.

Photograph 1: Identifies where I started, showing to cover was some distance from the side body.

Photograph 3: Identifies how close I was able to get the cover after working on the wood header.

Photograph 2: Shows that the front cover now contacts the header support steel angle.

My problem is that now that the cover contacts the angle, I am not able to move the front cover any further onto the wood header. Also, the contour between the cover and the A column looks to be close to correct. A little of work will smooth out the contour nicely.

Do you have any suggestions or ideas how to get the cover closer to the side?

Thank you,

I agree that you have the header cover where it should be. In a previous post I said your roof side panels end too far back, most I have seen the gutters end in approx the middle of the A pillar. It looks like your body shell is not forward enough on the wood framing. I think your next step would be to hang the doors and you will see what I mean.

Thank you,
I went back in the posts, to the point you received the body. Glad to see you
have it bolted to the frame.

I would think you should hang ALL the doors and shim,..for a correct fit,
before you start bolting / pulling on parts that will effect the doors, windshield, dash rail..and what else you can think of..
