Default Ballast resistor/circuit breaker"

Can someone help me identify the year this ballast resistor/circuit breaker was used? It appears to be NOS with some shelf rust. What's it worth and does anyone need it?

Both my 36 and 41 have one. There is a guy on Ebay asking $45 for a NOS one for a long time.

Do both of your cars have one like this one? My '37's have resistors and fuse blocks, but they are elongated and much thinner than this one.

I think that they are '41 - '48. They seem to go for between $25 and $40 on ePay. I would be interested in buying depending on price

The circuit breaker/resistor board you show looks like it may be the one that has a single circuit breaker inside the perforated cover. If so, I believe its about a 1939 to 1941 single circuit breaker/resistor panel. I believe the breaker handles all the lighting.

After 1941 Ford provided a double circuit breaker (which I have in my '47) inside the perforated cover. One breaker (the terminal "H" in middle of the three) goes to the light switch on the dash board. The other breaker (left-hand terminal "A") handles other lights etc.

Either google Ford wiring diagrams or go to Van Phelt's web site and look at the wiring diagrams for different years there.

These boards are of value, especially to folks who have retained their 6 volt electric systems which include the need for the resister that serves the 6 volt ignition coil.

I encourage you to place and maintain an ad at various Ford forum web sites in their FOR SALE or SWAP columns. it may not sell quickly but someone out there, sooner or later, will need your item.
