Default 1932 to 1934 Gas caps.

As the Gas tank caps on the 1932 to 1934 seal the tank to stop fuel from spilling from them, is there such a thing as a sealed locking gas cap as all the locking ones I have seen are vented which is O/K for the later model V8's.

Not one released by Ford engineering until 1935.

Ian, While Ford didn't have a locking cap in 1934, the locking cap introduced in 1935 was backwards compatible. Certain versions of this cap were convertible from vented to non-vented. The first photo shows the venting screw allowing the cap to be vented or non-vented. The second photo shows the vented only version. The third photo shows the bottom of a Drake repro. It resembles the convertible cap in design, but is not marked as such. Try talking to them to see if their version is convertible, or find an original.

Hope this helps, Don Rogers

I used to use a short length of motor cycle inner tube over the filler neck and cap . Then I found this cap from vintique ,yes it's got an eyesore V8 logo embossed , I don't know if they do a plain cap which I would have preferred. No leaks at all even with a very full tank.

I want an original, one which has the larger knurling around the perimeter, not the tiny knurling. I have one of the repops now.

Is there anybody have a 1935 locking gas cap for sale similar to the photo of one I have supplied.
The photo of the one in my previous thread on Ebay has been sold.
Thanks.
