Default Rear motor mount

Any one have any tips for installing new rear motor mount? Les's says to drive the old one forward to remove, did that but now I need to gain a quarter inch to get the new mount between the frame and the bell housing. Wondering if I can put a jack between the frame and the transmission and gain a quarter inch or so. How much can I safely move it out? Any ideas, anyone??

Question, what diameter pipe did you use. Is 1/2" to small?

Most will remove the front body to frame bolts on both sides to give it a little more flex.

I installed the passenger side mount and then used a small bottle jack between the frame and transmission to move the frame a little. I did loosen the body bolts and had to remove the battery. All went in easily. Only problem is that the bolts supplied with the kit were too short and I had to source some replacement bolts. I used Grade 8 and had a hard time drilling them for the split (cotter in US speak) pins.

Replacing the motor mount pads is a BITCH! EASIER/BETTER, just to install FLOAT-A-MOTOR mounts!
