Question 31 rdster wiring help

Hi guys, I'm installing the wiring in my roadster. the car when I got it didn't have any at all so its all new to it and me. the first question was the bail wire installation ,got that solved thanks to you guys. but a problem happened at the sw. box, the inside piece with the 3 dimples flew apart because I removed it incorrectly . the brass ring with the small spring and small brass inner washer popped out. I reassembled it but it can go back together 2 ways. i can orient the dimples at 1- 5 & 9 o'clock or 11- 3 &7 o'clock. with the dimples at 11-3 -7 position I have this : move the sw handle to the left and one wire to the head lite gets power, move the switch one position to the right and it shorts out the fuse . I'm gonna try to change the small brass ring inside the switch to the 1-5-9 position . its a lot so before I tackle it does any know for sure the proper position of this part of the switch?? question # 2 are the parking lites and the cowl lites considered the same lites. my manual says moving the switch to the left turns on the parking lites and no mention of the cowel lites . THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO HELP ME OUT THE HOOCH

Low power lights that were used to park the car without shining brighter lights into traffic could be a bulb in the head light or cowl lights.

Originally cars with cowl lights had 1 bulb headlights.....cars produced without cowl lights had 2 bulb headlights. And yes turning the light switch to the left would activate whichever it was equipped with...
