you may have to bend the arms so it fully opens with each. By arms i mean the arms on the accelerator bracket.

I believe he is talking about the linkage that attaches to the engine just in front of the firewall. However, before you do that i would figure out why and where the difference is before you bend anything. The throttle linkage on the steering column may be bent and not the foot pedal.

yea its refered to as the accelerator bracket - bolts to the back of the engine. Ive seen those arms twisted and bent all over the place. His steering column tube could be turned also, should be pretty much straight.

or has extra thick carpet or foot rest is too tall.

I put a new throttle shaft in my carb and that affected how far it opened, pedal was all the way down against the engine (no cab yet) and butterfly wasnt fully opened. tweaked the bracket arm there the linkage attaches forward some and fixed that problem.

ok thanks guys for the response, i looked at the column tube and it is not straight, and i dont think the hand lever is bent as it will open the throttle all the way open so i will check out the bracket for the foot pedal in the morning ... this just started i have not had this problem in the past it drove me crazy until i saw what it was checked timing, rebuilt carb. points .. these model a fords are a learning curve everyday

it should be straight - there are several incorrect length rods that go between the left lever (advance lever) and the upper plate of the distributor. When i first picked out a set to clean up and restore i learned the first one i did was 1/4" short and thus had to turn the steering column a bit to make it work - that didnt look right and threw everything else outa whack.

check and make sure your column hasnt rotated or you installed extra thick carpet or somethign hindering the accelerator motion.
