Just Picked up This 36

Hi guys, Its been a while sense I have posted but I do check in every so often to see what has been going on.
I just picked up this little 36 Cabriolet, all stock. I want to change it over to hydraulic brakes and keep the wide 5 wheels. My question is can I just change out the spindles to the later 37-48 spindles, use the 39-48 backing plates and my stock wide 5 drums?
Any help would be appreciated.
