Default AA 4 Speed Trans Shifter Length

Does anyone know when the length of the shifter handle increased?
The one in my Roadster Pickup is approximently 17" above the Trans.
I have two other AA 4 Speeds that have shifter handles that are approximately 21 1/2" in exposed length.
Thanks in advance!

The parts book only shows one, used from 1929-42. I think Dodge and
Studebaker used that trans, maybe the long shifter is from one of them.
I measured five I have and they are all about 17".

Mine measures 19" from where it exits the top of the tower, following the curve to the top of the threads....

Quite a variety!
