Default Spartan horn

I just finished repainting my Sparton horn.

Which direction does the Sparton tag get mounted to the cover?

Should it be read from the front (opening end)? Or from the motor cover end?

Thank you.

Here's a link to an original unrestored Sparton horn on ebay. Read the funny description.

I asked him to add pictures with the cover off he said, "perhaps you can buy it and take them".

One question on the tag on the one for sale, Should there be a date stamped after the letter R?

My Sparton has a date. This tag must have been replaced.

It looks good.
Remember there is a felt washer that fits around the adjustment screw before the cover goes on.
This is often missing for some reason.

I purchased a Sparton horn rebuild kit from one of our suppliers. The hole in the diaphragm ratchet measures 0.201" as does the special flat washer that goes on with it. The motor armature shaft measures 0.215" on the o.d. Obviously the ratchet and washer don't fit the shaft. Drilling out the ratchet is not a problem. Doing the same to the washer might be difficult.
The hole in the old ratchet and washer 0.221"
I have not had response from the vendor on this issue.

Has any one else had this problem?

Tom; I did cut and use a felt washer. I found the reference in a photo, from another horn post.

Thank You Very Much;
