I'm wanting to connect an oil pressure gauge to my 30 Tudor. I have an oil filter installed and want to know if I can put a t-fitting in the oil pump plug hole to make it work. I'm very new at this and need all the help I can get. Thanx for any help.

If you have the same type of fitting I do, a Tee works great. Unless you have a high pressure pump don't expect to see much action on the press gauge. Maybe a couple, to five pounds when cold but dropping off considerably when warmed to operating temperature.

Most of the gauges that I've seen come with the 1/8" NPT X oil line fitting. If they don't, the vendors have a kit that includes the proper fittings and the copper line to connect the gauge to the block.
(Tom types faster than I do!)

A word of caution: The casting around the oil port is not very thick and will break if too much force is used, so be gentle with tightening the fittings. Last edited by Benson; 04-05-2016 at 11:11 AM. |
