Should be "F-10" or "C" for conventional if it's an F-100.

They have a "classic corner" section for older F-series trucks. Link: http://www.f150forum.com/f13/ |

Here's a model identifier for early Ford trucks: http://www.f100central.com/identify-your-truck#1953
I have never heard of numbers like 81,82,83,,85 ever used.

But as said earlier, unless it's a C-cab, I'd say all the windshield for a conventional F-series pickup for this model year should be same. I don't have a parts book for pickups but the base # for a windshield is 03100 if anyone has a book and wants to look it up. |

VIN plates on cars had a body number on them. Look at the plate on your F100 to see if it has one of the body numbers that you listed. Just a guess.

There's nothing like those 81,82,83,85 numbers in the vin tag decoder.

Maybe it's time to call the Glass Co. and ask them what they mean by the numbers.

I agree Sal - clear as mud!
![]() I guess that's why those old parts guys got paid so much to figure out them codes. NOT. But yes, best to let the glass shop help you out in order to get the correct windshield. |
