Just started a ground up restoration on a 1931 Model A. Anyone know of a shop that will O/H the radiator in the Chehalis, Wa to Olympia, Wa area? Also can anyone recommend what manual should I get that best covers what I am getting into and assembly steps? Thanks Dan

There are quite a few books that will of help to you that other will recommend. Each body style has its own particulars when it comes to the body restoration but for the most part drive train is the same. What body style do you have? Is it early or late 1931? Straight windshield or slanted? It does make a difference when you ask for help in the future.

Is this your first Model A, and how long have you had it. I wouldn't be too quick to tear it all apart unless you are familure with it. Either way, take lots of pictures and make notes. Also label the parts containers.
I would by the "RESTORATION GUIDELINES", "Service Bulletins", "Owner's Manual", and a few parts books from the Model A vendors, like Bert's, Bratton's, and Snuder's. |

Another place to ask wold be your local automotive parts shop, tractor dealership, heavy truck shop (whatever's closest), they should have some good leads as to where they send their rads to get fixed. PS watch out if you ask for a quote and get two very different prices as the cheaper one probably won't be the better deal, there are big differences in quality of rads (one will cool and last way better than the next)

Thanks to those who replied. This is my first Model A and looking forward to the project. After spending 35 years building home built airplanes and restoring antique airplane I have a lot to learn but am up for the challenge. Especially knowing where to get help. Thanks again!
