Hi all
Since I finally finished changing the motor in my 1919 T and have it running, I thought that I would give you an update on the 31 town sedan that belonged to my dad. ![]() This was the near original vehicle that had been in storage for nearly 50 years and had a frozen motor. This baby was really locked up and after pulling the head and pan I realized that water had gotten into the innards and it needed a lot of work. Then I learned that it was a 1930 motor and most likely not original so I went looking for another that could be rebuilt more easily. ![]() The one I found had a lot of miles on it but it turned easily and would make a good place to start from. As we were getting ready to begin the rebuild, my engine builder found another motor in great shape that would cost less to rebuild. ![]() The new motor is finally finished and now I have a packed garage. By packed I mean the Model A, the Model T, 3 Model A motors, an extra Model T motor, two snow blowers (don’t ask), 4 tool boxes, a motor hoist, a generator, air compressor, etc., and room for my wife’s van. When it gets warm my wife’s van will take residence in the driveway while I put the good motor in the Model A. ![]() If the past is any indication of the future, I will have the Model A on the road in 2018. ![]() |

You can buy an outdoor car cover for $50 to put on the van. Then you'll have room to work now. I just started using my car cover over my Olds that sets outside, and it sure makes it nice to have a car without ice covered windows and frozen doors and door locks. My leaf blower clears the snow right off the car cover for easy removal.

Bill - Three of the tool boxes are mine and one belongs to my son. At one time I had two but my wife got a 44 inch tool box with an 18 inch extension for the kitchen (yes I said Kitchen) and tool box envy got me so I had to get a 44 inch one for myself.
I think I know where everything is most of the time. ![]() Sunnybrook - It was my dad's but I drove it to High School in the early 60's when my 1941 Ford coupe was broken - which means most of the time. The back seat was perfect for the drive-in movies! ![]() Tom -- My wife claims that the A belongs to her but I don't think she will agree to leaving her van outside even if it is covered. In any case there is not a lot of room in driveway because it holds my Hyundai XG350, 1500 Silverado extended cab Z71, and my son's Volvo wagon. The space next to the garage has the 24 foot "project trailer" (soon to be a car hauler-I hope) and a utility trailer. |
