Default front spring

What is the best way to beef up the front spring? Could you add a leaf, or would that make it to stiff?

thanks for your input.

What are you starting with? Are you stock or running a hemi head Chrysler? Have you already removed several leafs and are asking about putting one back? What is your body style and how many leafs do you have in the current spring?

A ten leaf front spring should be fine for all passenger cars and pickups. Why do you want to "beef" it up, might I ask?

Thanks Fellows, just sets to low. Like you said a new one is the answer.

Re-arching is another way, but it won't last as long as a new one..

Ground to center of bumper should measure around 18-1/2" I just replaced my front spring with a "show quality" spring prepped with slip-plate and installed a set of the heavy duty shackles (w/zerks). I checked the body/frame wood blocks and hood alignment to discover I gained almost 3-1/2"!! The stance now is where it should be and matches the cars I see in historical photos. Really happy with the spring. I have an original front spring, however, I am not a fan of rearching and with today's metalurgical tech - life with my "A" is a lot less work. Have fun with your A!!
