I made some tools to remove them. They were chrome plated brass with a bevel cut in one end of the pipe. The high side of the bevel was at the very outside edge so it would push on the outside diameter of the badge retainer. Put some penetrating oil on the retainer, then lay on the tool and give it a slap with a block of wood or a hammer. The badge would pop out without damage to the badge and retainer.
The tools are all sold and I can't find the pipes I used to make them anymore, but you could make one from steel pipe. |
