Default Model A pickup bed wood measurements

Can anyone help me with the measurements for the wood in the Model A pickup bed. I have special wood that I want to cut out for my 29 Model A pickup bed. I have looked all over the internet and can't find the size of the wood anywhere. I can only find places to by precut wood kits. The bed that's on my pickup is missing. Thank you, Bob

There are some good pictures and measured drawings on pages 14-15 of "Restoring the Model A Pickup" by Mack Hils.

I used the drawing that JTW referred to, "Restoring the Model A Pickup" by Mack Hils.
If you have the narrow bed you will be satisfied with this drawing.

Thank you all for this good information. Now I can get busy and cut this bed wood out! IM restoring this 29 pickup for my Daughter and I hope it will be ready for her to drive before the end of the year. The body is at the paint shop now! I just finished rebuilding the transmission this weekend. After I do the bed wood I will do the upholstery! Any idea where I can get Mohair upholstery? Wish me luck. Thanks again for all your help.

Great info, one other thing, does anyone have the measurment of the saw cut to the edge of the boards, that the metal rails fit into?

Also like to see a pic of your installed wood.. thanks

1/8" X 1/8" Deep. These are cut 1/2" to the edge of the cut from the boards edge. See drawing. Hope this helps you.

Suggust you put a sealer on the wood as soon as you can. white oak likes to rack. I waited several days and had a problem. Bob

Just FYI .... the center two bed strips are supposed to be attached to the center bed plate with rivets. I found that the "fake" rivets sold by most vendors for the headlight shells look good and are easier to install after everything is painted.
