Default Front brake Rod spring

Attempting to install springs on the front brake rods. I have the flat metal kind with nubs on the rods. Is there a angle bracket that is necessary mounted on the frame ? '30 coupe

The brackets were made from the punch outs in the crossmember.

that angle bracket should be riveted to your frame right next to the rear bracket for the hood latch.
