Would someone please post pic (s) of proper (Ford's way) way that the door straps should look when installed. My driver does not have these straps and I'm now about to install some. None of catalogues that I have show these installed.

What year and body style is your car? Not all models used the straps.

Don't have a roadster so no picture but there should be one on each end of both straps.

The straps gets doubled over on both ends - here's a picture of a 1930 Deluxe (Marco's)

TNANKS much...that's why picture was asked for ![]() I got them on, but did not look right with the 2 extra holes ..not filled. It is going to be a bit of a task 'doubling' the ends up, as the leather is very THICK. |

Originals weren't leather, so I wonder if it's even possible to double them up?

Oh well, I just went out to look at them installed again. Since the doors open even wider with straps installed with widest set of holes...looks great !! Like is oft said here , by some, if it is ain't broke why fix it ![]() Hm, wondering if vendors offer a rubber substitute version to do same job ? Last edited by hardtimes; 09-11-2015 at 02:06 PM. If it's not for judging but just for service, I suggest woven belting in an appropriate color. I used that on my 28 RPU driver and it worked well and looked fine. I guess I would have to admit that it was "good enough."
