![]() ![]() His family purchased it in the early 70s from the owner of a Ford dealership, and they were told at that time that it was all original. I am just beginning the process of learning enough to list , describe, and price it correctly. I will pull it out of storage for a better look/pics as soon as I know what I'm supposed to look for (what's important?). The car does run, although the crank wore me out. Tough to start that way. We were giving kids rides last summer through the property, so I know it goes and stops. I'm looking for some help. I need to find out what buyers need to know. What can I learn from the serial number? Is there anything special or common about this car as I try to figure out a sale price? Any advice would be appreciated! thanks! ![]() Last edited by Tidajo; 04-25-2015 at 03:44 PM. |

Pull it out and take several pictures, Front, back, both sides, both sides of motor, underneath oil pan, underneath from rear, picture of rear end, pictures inside car.
Then we can help you with how original the car is and some kind of value. Where is the car located? You might get someone from one the the local Model T Clubs to swing by. So far it looks hopeful. Once you post all the pictures you'll have everybody and there brother giving there 2 cents. Dodge |

The serial number plate is interesting! Could you post a picture of the entire wording? It sounds like the lawyers ran things even back then!

Quick look with photos provided;
1914 body. 1919 up front axle assembly or the spring perches and wishbone has been replaced. 1915 to 1925 rear axle. Front tires are ether over sized or 30 X 3 1/2 wheels should be 30 X 3". What is the engine number? It will be over the water inlet on the drivers side. Does it have a good title or proper paper work to transfer ownership in the state it's will be sold in? Does it have the correct coil box? Photos taken outside are way better when it comes to selling as is a running car. Photos of the engine from all sides as well as major parts of the car. It the top can be put up for some that is good. Last edited by redmodelt; 04-25-2015 at 09:22 PM. |

We never heard back from you, did you figure it out or did you die?

Maybe he did not like the answers, or he was hoping to get someone here to contact him to buy it. This could be a simple case of a sales ad hiding as a question.

Sorry, for a few things.
First, it took me longer to get it out of that storage area. My weekends got full. Second, I forgot what site I had posted this on. (That's the disrespectful part, my apologies). I just posted the better pics on MTFCA also. http://smg.photobucket.com/user/tida...rary/Model%20T |

Hi Red -
Is that a propane tank on the running board? If so, that was never a standard or optional feature was it? How long do you think you could burn the headlights with a tank that size? I'm restoring a 1914 T touring and was thinking of mounting a smaller propane tank under the car or maybe in that tool box under the back seat. Thanks |

That is not a propane tank. It is acetylene for the headlamps. A full tank lasts a long time. A valid accessory on that car. Your 1914 Ford could use an acetylene tank as well

Really? That was an option?
There is no more real estate on my running boards for an acetylene tank. I have two spare tires just left of the driver and a battery box between the doors on the right side. Where might they have mounted a tank with a configuration like that? I may want to show this thing some day. . |

I'll do that. Give me some time. I just transitioned to Linux after Windows XP (I refuse to give Bill Gates any more of my money) and I'm still getting my sea legs with the new operating system. For starters, the ship number is: 409023 The engine block number is: 346779 I think it might be mostly original with the exception of a rear view mirror on the front left fender and one of those wolf whistles on the exhaust pipe but I look forward to getting some input from the forum. .
