Default Speedo "Vibration"???

Well after 25k on my A the speedometer went out...just stopped registering. I also run a Mitchell overdrive. Changed out the entire cable last night and it works ,.....HOWEVER, there is actually a vibration with it works..Really strange, the speed is accurate but i get a strange vibration of the numbers as it registers the speed. Has been well lubricated and fits in both the speedo and speedo gear from Mitchell fine..Anyone have this issue or suggestions, my thought was maybe the mitchell adapter cable might be going also.

Did u lube up the new cable
Not that it's causing the issue but should be done as they are sent dry.
I would think if the speed is registering steady then it's something in the head assy

My speedo did the same thing. Took it apart as far as I was able too, and found a piece of dried grease that was floating around the speedo gear area where the cable screws to the speedo. It looked clean, but the dried grease chunk was hiding. It was small, but big enough to cause my problem.

Take the core of the cable out, roll it on a table, if it junps look for a kink, no bend in the outer casing should have less than a 7" radius, try to have cable straight for at least 1" at each end,

Called Mitchell overdrive and there feeling is that THEIR cable to the overdrive probably went bad also as it is leaking out of the attachment area. they want 66.00 complete for a new cable with gears, Sue is pretty sure if the main cable went bad theirs also did and has seen this before... Thanks for the comments folks...
