Default asirtex fuelpump

I purchased an e8902 fuelpump and was advised it works on postive or negative ground, when installing power {negative} to the tan wire and grounding the black wire to the positive ground pump will not work,if I take the pump directly to the battery will not pump......if I put the tan {power wire} on the positive of the battery and goundig black wire it works fine, after snding several emails to airtex all they state is it should work.....any ideas ?

You might have better luck over at H.A.M.B.

While there are a few T cars that have overhead down draft carbs setups that would need a fuel pump that post here most guys run stock T's and they don't have a fuel pump. The chance of finding someone here that runs that pump might be slim. You might allso try one of the V8 forums. There are a few guys that have bypassed the mechanical fuel pump and installed the electric pump.

The e8902

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/atx-e8902

Is a six volt neg ground fuel pump shouldnt be a problem as you stated it runs when wired correctly. Model Ts are neg ground vehicles.
This pump supplys 4 psi and will need a regualtor to prevent flooding etc....

regulator at Advance Auto Parts...

I run one of these little pumps on both my Model Ts with the regulator and they work very well....

My brother uses a 12 volt pump on his 6 volt T no regulator.

I think that they are saying is that the pump case is not connected to ground wire. the two wires are isolated from the pump body.

You still need to hook the positive wire to positive and the negative wire to the negative to bake the pump work.

To check this out get a multi meter and check for continuity from one wire to the body and then the other wire to the body.
