39 Ford at Phar Lap Race Course Timaru. The horse is called Phar Lap and there are claims that this famous horse born in New Zealand belongs to Australia. We in this country New Zealand know where it belongs. Phil NZ |

Phar Lap ; born in NZ, trained & raced in Australia & died in US.
I think his heart is preserved in Canberra. We have the skeleton & Australia has the stuffed hide. Nice Coupe, reminds me of one near my nephews place, Queenspark CHCH pre 'quakes. Last edited by Tudortomnz; 06-25-2015 at 01:14 AM. |

Bryn,
Coupe performed very well. A nice quiet run down to Timaru & back.Kept off the Senic Route through Geraldine just to be sure we didnt run into any snow. Stayed over 1 night. Called in at Temuka on the way home and had a visit with Lindsay Prentice. My favorite is always driving these cars and the many smiles, memories, and comments from those who remember these cars fom their past. Phil NZ |

And how is Lindsay Prentice? A true gentleman he is...I had the pleasure of helping him out with his 37 coupe a few years back in Masterton.

Brian,
Lindsay www.mtfca.com/discus/messages/411944/413022.html?1389498548 is not without some medical problems. However he is positive and does not dwell on this. The 37 coupe is in the garage along with a 48 Bonus, he has restored. This was the service truck for Hally Motors Temuka who were Ford agents until 1939. See attached link which shows arrival of model T's in the area. www.mtfca.com/discus/messages/411944/413022.html?1389498548 Phil NZ |
