As I've posted before, I've been having trouble with my brake light switch working properly. I've been through 2 switches and rods and I could not get the plunger closed enough for the light to go out. The brakes are adjusted properly. So, I took a 3/16th thick flat steel washer and welded it to the plunger end of the rod. Now the switch works great. Brakes work good. The only thing that I can figure is that the cross brace that the switch fastens to is warped or bowed. Is this fix hurting anything? I forgot to mention, its a 30 roadster.

Is it a repop switch? If so you may have to leave it, if it works use it.

Took a little reworking but I put a switch from a cammaro on my coupe. Had to make my own bracket to hold it, easy stuff though. Then I connected a red light in the cab that goes on when I step on the brake. I always know when the brake light is on and when it if off.
