I'm running a year of manufacturer plate 1931 MASS and it measures 141/4 X 61/2 its a little worn but I don't want to paint it. A chrome trim would clean it up nicely but I can not find this size, any ideas?

I thought I saw an adjustable frame on the swap section but can't remember if the A or EV8 site, maybe a week or so ago.

I have one that doesn't seem to fit anything I or my friends have. I'll measure it when I get home later this afternoon.

Actually checked mine, just black and very likely and original part (not the best job smoothing out the rust pits...)

If you cannot find the specific size you need, consider having them waterjetted out of stainless and polishing them.

Sacramento Vintage has the large frames for 14" X 6" plates. I got them for my '30 CA plates.

or could get really crafty with the chrome self stick door edging for modern vehicles... slip it around the edge of the license plate - might work.

Okay I called Sacramento Vintage Ford and they actually took a plate frame out of stock and measured it for me. I think the OD might fit around the plate but the mounting holes are in the wrong place. Mine are about 91/2" on center theirs 71/2".

I just didn't read the "fine print" before I bought one. Doesn't seem to fit anything I've tried so far: Texas, North Dakota, & Kansas. I have one more in our club to try: Wisconsin. They must have made them to fit California only.

There is a vintage adjustable frame on e-pay http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Orig...item1c4f50d781
Or you may contact one of the License plate restorers. They may have or know where to get the proper size. |
