Default A question for Trevor -or Scott- at Mac's FOLLOWUP

First, thank you for your offer in your introductory thread to help us with questions. I am going to convert the RS in my 29 business coupe back to a trunk. I need the correct rear inner panel. Your catalog shows item Part #: 28-22852-1 (Alt Part #: A41000126), and states that it fits 28-31 roadsters and coupes. However, I have been told that that panel is different between 28-29s and the 30-31s, and also between coupes and roadsters. Can you clarify this for me, and/or tell me if in fact there is a difference? Or alternatively, post the dimensions of the piece you offer so I can see if it fits my coupe?

Thank you.

No response yet. OK, it's only been 24 hours, but as a retired marketing guy, I can tell you timely response to customer enquiries is an important aspect of marketing, especially when you're trying to introduce yourself. You only get one chance to make a first impression.

Maybe today?

Perhaps you should call on the telephone and ask specifically.

Scott left his email address on his post this morning. Possibly you will get a better response using that as I highly doubt they are looking at the forum as a whole, just their introduction thread. Just a thought as they seem more interested in self promotion and possibly getting a handle on their reputation and hopefully what needs to be fixed (time will tell). Just a thought. Rod

Rowdy,
Scott felt compelled to respond to my quip at 10:43 this a. m.
He could have replied to 700rpm's legitimate question with a simple "I'm on it and will get you an answer."

I emailed him just now.

I started this thread because I didn't want to hijack his introductory thread, and I thought by doing this, since he seemed to want to establish a presence on the Barn, that it would give him a way to do so.

There was no email address provided when I began this thread.

I also hope they are given a fair chance. Positive change takes time and an effort on both parties part. Wayne

I don't think this is the venue he had in mind to answer specific customer questions. What would this forum look like if each vendor conducted the business of customer inquires here?

Mike. I totally agree with you. That is not what this site is designed to do.

I don't think companies soliciting business or attempting to repair their image should be posting either. Just my thoughts.....

That then must be applied equally to all companies. One of the other parts suppliers is on the site regularly and no one seems to mind !

Here's a suggestion, I'm involved in several watch collecting forums, what we have done on those forums is provide a separate forum for dealers and manufactures so their posts, questions, etc. Did not show up on the primary forum.

This allows for members to choose whether or not they want to read their posts and participate.

It also provides the dealers and manufactures a good way to address questions and problems as well as post info about new products, sales etc.

Guys we are not here to solicit direct sales. We already have an ad banner on the home page for that purpose. You won't see me posting about sales and other promotions that we have. Our main objective is to try and help out the community any way we can. And yes making an effort to repair and fix broken relationships if possible.

I see their willingness and guts to post here as an acknowledgement of there being customer relations problems. Things like this is an attempt for those at or near the top to get a handle on the problems. I commend them for their efforts. Rod
