Dear Ford Barn'rs,
My tip of the hat to this knowledge base for all of the tips and secrets behind this task. Without your help I would still be struggling to install both the glass (with setting tape) as well as the difficult to install 39 frame seal. Well it is in and so much better that what was installed by the previous owner. I would not say I am an expert in this area but experienced now for sure. TonyM your posts on your installation of the glass and seal in your 37 especially the jig you build were very helpful. On thing I tried which seemed to really help with the setting tape was to use a heat gun to warm the setting tape up so that it was very pliable and somewhat sticky, I then used a small wallpaper roller (about 1 1/2" in width to smooth and flatten the setting tape. Hold it in place with a good quality electrical tape. Above all TAKE YOUR TIME, you don't need the car for work on Monday! (In most cases anyway) It's your hobby enjoy it. PMA does work. Thank you all again. MrPhat40 |
