From what I have read, these have fallen out of favor lately. I would do some further research before I used one. It seems that it has to be RTV'ed in place to work and is no better than a properly installed rope seal. I have one I was going to use on my next rebuild, but will check it carefully when installation time rolls around.

I had a motor brought to me last year. Bad oil leak. Removed the one piece seal and installed a rope seal. Drop of RTV on the ends and he has been a happy camper for over a year now.
