Default Fair asking price?

I have a 26 Tudor....was driven in barn 25 years ago. Totally complete matching numbers car. Interior fabric and roof fabric gone due to pests. Body is not rusty...no rust through anywhere. Engine and transmission turn over freely...inspection in spark plug holes..cylinders and pistons are clean. Fenders are perfect as is rest of body...hood probably a 4 out of 10. Has all interior parts including seat frames and springs. Needs top wood only. Has wood wheels however comes with set of 5 nice painted wire wheels with very nice tires and new hub caps. Oil drained from engine and transmission clean...no crap. This is VERY straight original body.

What would be fair asking price? Thanks! Will be able to move out for pics soon.

As described, un-restored and non- running, about $3500 to $3800 , esp. since that includes the wire wheels, wire wheel hubs, and tires.

Recent Tudor sold on eBay, in similar rougher condition for $2600

Will hopefully get the car moved out of garage and take some pics. That should assist in value assessment.

Price is going to depend on the location. And the interest in the area. Around here when you find them. You can get them pretty cheap.

I agree that location matters. Prices for a car vary widely depending on where it is. A T you can get for five grand in Texas or Iowa is likely to fetch eight or more in New York or California. It seems to me the lowest prices are in Montana, but I see good deals in other inland states as well. Another major influence is who's selling. Sometimes a widow just wants the old thing gone, and the car and a pile of extra parts go dirt cheap. Other times the family of the late owner assumes the car is worth a fortune because it's old. Often the seller is trying to recover all the money he poured into a car. When pigs fly. If I'm going to restore a car it has to be just for fun, because I know I'll never get back all I spend on it. Others study the current market and see what similar cars are going for, and price theirs realistically so they'll sell. You can watch cars sell on eBay and hmn.com to get an idea on prices. If the same ad appears for several months with no sale, that tells you something.

I know a guy with a 26 Tudor. That he restored a couple of years ago. He put it up for sale soon after. And he still ha it. It's a nice car. But he will never recover his money. I know where a older restoration 17 touring car is at. I think it will be for sale soon. He has a idea of what he would want for it. And it's a get it gone price. They want to get everything out to sell the place. Price will be what someone will pay for it.
