Default 33 Fuel Gauge (again)

Where can I buy the brass hex for a 33 fuel gauge, also can somebody tell me what the thread is on top of the hex. If i can't get a new one I will have a go at repairing one. An excuse to try out my new lathe.

King Seeley parts can be obtained from classicandexotic.com They have a fuel gauge reservoir and the best red fluid on the market.

Hi there, Instead of buying a new King Seeley sight glass unit which will cost you around $200.00 Aust. by the time it gets here just look for another original fuel gauge here at swap meets or on ebay. They are not that hard to find and should only cost around $50.00. Why mess around with that damaged unit which could be very difficult to repair. The small copper air line and fittings which go from the fuel tank to the gauge have to be absolutely air tight other wise gauge wont work. Regards, Kevin.

You can buy the Brass hex stock from McMaster- Carr on line. The brass compression hex nut and the 1/8 inch compression ring you can get from NAPA auto, The copper line to the fuel tank is 1/8 inch. If you buy a complete compression fitting 1/8 inch at NAPA you will have the center piece of the compression fitting to get the thread size witch is the same as the gauge.

Thanks Kevin,
I bought a unit on E-bay and it looked ok on the photo but the thread was crossed.
Will keep looking, and yes a $40 part from US ends up being $100 over here.
