I read in Jim Schild's "Restore's Model A Shop Manual"
proper torque for mains is 50 and rods is 35 I've been told mains should be 80 and rods 50 What is the correct torque? We are just removing some shims. Thanks |

For the Burtz engine, Terry recommends 55 ft-lbs for the mains and 40-45 ft-lbs for the rods. I used 65 ft-lbs for the rear main.
