Default Running and driving....now the long list....

OK, I may have my electrical issue figured out. Used the redneck method of run it till something burns up. Shocker it was the vintique head light harness. easy to detect by the smoke coming out of the headlights...

Drove about 5 miles in the neighborhood today with no issues.... OK other than I grind the piss out of the gears down shifting into first.

SO, no the make it drivable and reliable list starts. I was under the car and the rear end caught my eye (guess my car is female)... At a minimum I need to be sure there is oil in there. Should I open it up and drain it out and put fresh? Going to grease it all. Adjust brakes, inspect and repack wheel bearings(not that I know what I am looking at). What do I need to check, change with the transmission. The steering seems....not loose like dangerous, but not tight. I did clean the gas tank and oil pan

Any problem areas I need to look at? Planning on taking it on a semi rural
