Question Attaching hood insulation

I bought hood insulation for my 53 mainline from Mac's and it appears to be fiberglass on the hood side. It came with no instructions... How does one attach it? It looks like there are remnants of glue on the hood from the original, how would you glue fiberglass to metal?

If it's a straightforward job of fixing fibreglass to metal just use an aerosol impact upholstery adhesive. Mask up all areas where you don't want adhesive. There'll be instructions on the can.

If you can remove the bonnet (hood !) and do the work on the bench rather than the car; all the better.

Remember the adhesive sticks like "s----t to a blanket" so get it right first time !

tiger.1000 is right. I used 3M trim cement in the spray can on mine. It will be near impossible to do with hood on car. Turn the hood up side down. It is easier to fit the mat first without glue. My mat had to be trimed some to fit right. One other thing I will mention you may already know. The harder surface of the mat gets the glue and goes down on the hood. I saw a '53 Mercury at a show last summer that had the mat
up side down. I do not believe the soft side will hold the weight of the mat very long.
Like the sod layers advice "green side up", in this case "yellow side up"
Hope this helps. Not a difficut job. You have to be careful. Good Luck. Eddie
