The current magazine features an article about the restoration of a '30 Deluxe Phaeton, and in it, the owner states that he had his gas tank "relined". Does anyone have an inkling as to what that terminology means?

I "sealed" both of my gas tanks with a kit I purchased from one of the Model A dealers. Has worked great.

I sealed the tank in my Roadster around 5 years ago and have had no further problems. You can buy the materials from Brattons or Snyders.

The tank in the article was chemically stripped cleaned and a phenolic coating was baked on by a local radiator shop. We have also used (after chemically stripping the inside and out side a product from Bill Hirsch, a gas tank sealer with very good results.
