Here's my thread comparing halogen, LED's, and Sacramento Vintage Ford super bright incandescents, which I highly recommend: https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=67558

Get the bright bulbs from Sacramento Vintage and forget the halogen.

I go with TJ. I tried the halogen and they really didn't seem a whole lot brighter. I got the brighter bulbs from Sacrament Vintage and they work very well.

And. paint the inside of the housing gloss white. That will help more than anything else.

Every one comments on the brightness of the full LED units in two of our cars, excellent . Not sure if you can get these in 6v. Don't mess with a bulb get the full LED unit. Driving in modern traffic most dummies don't understand old semi glow tail lights.
