Hi, all. Newbie here, bare with me. I've seen threads on distributors for Yblocks and would like to know if anyone knows about W&H Dupoint distributors. I would also know if anyone has modified a '56 tbird distributor to make it mechanical advance. I'd like to change from the t-pot carb but I don't want to loose my tach. I also don't really want to pay the national debt for a '57 or the like. I see 'em on ebay for ever, wonder why (duh).

http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/t...t-post.443192/ I had the same problem with a 55 bird. I used an MSD timing computer, with a 6AL box. It lets you set 20 degrees of retard, and the rate and RPM it comes in. Wasn't a perfect solution, but it worked. If I was doing it again, I'd bite the bullet for a 57 unit, but I have no idea what they cost these days. |
