Default Plugs to use

I know the original plugs used in an A were Champions, but they are quite expensive. I am now running with champion replacements, but they are cad plated, and somehow, I've never gotten used to cad plugs in my old cars. I like to run NOS vintage plugs because of the older names on them and the fact they are not cad plated. I have an original set of AC's that have a 1/2" reach and wonder if I can use them. the engine on this beast is a Model B with a Model A head. Since the plugs are over the valves, they won't hit the piston, but anyone have an opinion? I know, we all have opinions...
