Default Junk Yards on the way to French Lick?

Does anyone know of any good junk yards between Minneapolis, MN and French Lick, Indiana?

I'd like to stop at any that might have rear springs for my 1950 Studebaker Champion, which fit back to 1947.

It's hard to find yards that still carry the cars from the 40's and 50's. Finding a yard with Model A's would be great too, but that would be near impossible I think, although Windy Hill Auto Parts in New London, MN had a few the last time I was there about 15 years ago.

Jack's Auto Ranch near Watertown, WI. has well over 3,000 cars older than 1970, including a Model A town sedan and what was left of a couple AA trucks the last time I was there. If anybody has back springs for your Stude, Jack will. Just east of Madison, WI. 1-920-699-2521. Happy hunting! PS. There's a wrecker guy with torch who will help get yer springs for ya. Plant to spend a couple hours just looking around.

Thanks Mike. Our route will be south on 35 into Iowa, then east to Rockford, IL, then south and east. This way we will avoid Chicago. That yard sounds like a good one and I'll have to pay it a visit.

Somewhere I have a book called "Diamonds in the Rough" I believe is the title, and it tells about the good older junk yards around the country, what they have and their locations. Now, where did I put that book?

There's a junk yard full of old 40's/50's cars in Modoc Indiana at the corner of US 36 an SR 1. Trouble is there's no business office or store (or name) there so I'm not sure who owns it or if they sell parts. There is a gas station /car repair shop across the road but not sure if it's theirs. Modoc is about 60 miles east of Indy on US 36.

Tom,

I have driven many times back east from MN. Try 94 to 39 south then 74 toward Indiana. Toll on 39 but shorter.

We took 74 and are now at Motel 6 in Terre Haute, so will be at French lick before noon. I didn't see any junk yards along the way and Rusty probably wouldn't have stopped if I had.
