My zenith carb. has a crack on the side where the choke and gas adjustment rod screw in. Is there any type epoxy or whatever that can be used to repair it that is gas proof?
thanks Warren |

Probably a dreadful bodge in some people's minds ..... but I plastered over a crack in the float bowl area with Araldite ( similar epoxy to JB weld) about 10 years ago and have been running with it ever since!

I agree with John and would use JB Weld or a similar 2 part epoxy product.

X3 on the JB Weld product. They've always worked well for me.

This ethanol laced crap gas if famous for causing such problems. I'd take the carb apart and clean it first. I still use the original steel needle and seat in my original carb. I had to polish the needle with toothpaste to make it seal.

If my carburetor housing was cracked and leaking fuel I would be getting a different serviceable housing. They are not hard to find.
