Default Window regulators...... warning!

When I built the doors in my 28 Tudor, I decided the old regulators were too far gone to rebuild, and I could not find any that were any better. Soooo... I bought a pair of repro ones from Macs. After quite a bit of bending and grinding, I managed to get them in and working. They certainly were not a drop in and go item. A lot of fiddling later and they still worked, but not very satisfactorily. The operation was jerky and I could feel the teeth engaging one by one as I turned the winder handle.
I was quite disgruntled with all this so purchased a pair of regulators from Snyders, based on their assurance that theirs were the best. Well..... they are. These ones not only looked much more similar to the originals, but they dropped in without needing any modification and worked a LOT more smoothly.
Moral of the story..... buy Snyders. I hope this saves someone the trouble I went through.

You did also give this info to Mac's as well so that they might be given the opportunity to change vendors?

And that thank you for this information.

I purchased mine from Little Dearborn in Mpls Mn. They dropped right in and work great. Maybe they are both from the same source.
